Interim Executives
Dinte Resources pioneered the innovative concept of interim services (executives, management, and professionals) more than a decade ago. An interim is skilled and experienced in a specific functional area -- or in many areas -- and works in the client’s organization on a temporary basis. The interim initiates, manages, continues and/or completes specific programs or projects of various size and scope. Dinte Resources Interim Executive searches fill a term-limited business functional or corporate leadership role.

The Interim Executive’s Role in the Organization

. . . may include one or more of the following

  • Caretaker - As caretaker, the interim executive temporarily assumes the responsibilities of an executive who has been promoted, taken medical leave, moved into another position or unexpectedly left the organization. The interim executive serves in this “caretaker” role until the incumbent returns or until a full-time executive is hired.
  • Special Projects - The interim executive develops or implements a new program or a special project when current staff is insufficient or lacks the specialized expertise needed to do the work.
  • Mentor - The interim executive assists or mentors an executive who has compatibility and potential, but lacks the depth of experience needed to succeed in a specific role. The interim executive can share his/her extensive knowledge with the executive on staff, in effect grooming that person for the role.
  • Try Before You Buy - The interim executive performs the duties of a full-time executive on a trial basis so the client can try out or “test drive” the person to ensure he/she has the skills and experience needed to succeed in the role and to ensure there is compatibility or “chemistry” between the interim executive and the client’s management and staff.

Advisory Board Search
Dinte Resources occasionally assists clients in an advisory board search for additional, highly-experienced business functional or corporate leadership. Advisory Boards provide external advice and guidance to small- and mid-sized privately held companies. As these organizations grow — particularly those in start-up stages — chief executives often feel isolated in the corner office and are faced with decisions carrying substantial ramifications. An Advisory Board provides valuable counsel to assist with long-term strategy formulation and other confidential management issues. Advisory Board members offer a sounding board with candid feedback and penetrating questioning from a completely external perspective and a wealth of experience. Their insight enables organizations to resolve issues more expediently, to take actions that circumvent potential growth obstacles, to develop sound business plans that meet well-defined objectives, and to think “outside the box.” However, Advisory Boards are different from Boards of Directors of publicly held companies because they serve only at the pleasure of the organization’s leadership.

Employing the same consultative relationship-building approach upon which our other search practices are founded, we conduct extensive up-front analyses to ensure that appropriate Advisory Boards are formed for our clients. These Boards consist of nationally and internationally recognized and acclaimed leaders whom we have identified, interviewed, calibrated and attracted for their specialized expertise and for their managerial and leadership abilities. We are also highly sensitive to evaluating Board candidates’ compatibilities within a group advisory environment.

Customized Career Evaluation and Transition
Our multi-phase program is a customized career evaluation process that includes a thorough assessment of skill sets, values and objectives. As the C-level executive ponders quality-of-life issues alongside career goals, such value-based career coaching helps them uncover more meaningful opportunities — whether they are with organizations in other industries or in starting a new business.

Dinte Resources’ structured outplacement program begins with a careful analysis of the C-level executive’s objectives, existing and desired skills, as well as career and life values, in order to establish a customized career transition strategy. This initial phase may entail several one-on-one meetings with the executive. In the second phase, the executive is immersed in the specific “how-to’s” of interviewing, networking, database research, direct mail campaigns and other proactive career marketing efforts.

Finally, we refer the executive to contacts in our extensive database for continued networking and, as mentioned above, to specific employment opportunities within our client base, whenever possible. With our unique C-level executive outplacement program, Dinte Resources ensures each and every executive receives only the highest quality, personalized service.
